As we step into 2026, the La Salle Business School Alliance (LSBSA) celebrates a season of milestone achievements and renewed commitment to its Lasallian mission of global collaboration, ethical leadership, and transformative education.
Ubuntu in Action - LSBSA at the IALU Encuentro 2025 (Nairobi, Kenya)
In December, the LSBSA proudly represented the Lasallian network at the IALU Encuentro 2025, hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, presenting its vision and progress before Lasallian leaders from around the world.
The presentation, led by:
Dr. Ryan D. Butt – President of LSBSA and Dean, Lewis University (USA)
Dr. Christopher Kennett – Vice President of LSBSA and Dean, La Salle-URL (Spain)
Dr. Gabriel Tadeo Camacho Echeverría – Board Member and Dean, Universidad La Salle Bajío (Mexico)
…emphasized the Lasallian principle of Ubuntu - “I am because we are.”
The session celebrated the Alliance’s progress:
37 business schools across 5 regions
30,000+ students, 2,100 faculty, and 230,000 alumni globally
Key highlights included:
The La Salle Social Impact Case Competition, empowering students to address global challenges.
The Executive Leadership Program, connecting emerging leaders through shared learning and ethical leadership.
Global Study Tours and Academic Collaborations, fostering real-world, cross-regional learning.
The Nairobi presentation also set the tone for the next phase of the Alliance - a call to expand joint academic programs, micro-credential initiatives, and faculty research collaborations across all regions.

🏛️ The 3rd LSBSA General Assembly – January 2026
The Third General Assembly marked a strong beginning to 2026, gathering Lasallian business school leaders from around the world to reflect on the previous year’s milestones and outline strategic goals for the future.
Key points from the assembly included:
Alliance Growth & Membership
The Alliance now includes 37 active business schools across 5 global regions.
New members were officially welcomed, expanding representation and diversity.
Discussions emphasized deepening partnerships between existing and new institutions to ensure an inclusive, global Lasallian network.
Strategic Initiatives
The Executive Leadership Program was confirmed as one of LSBSA’s flagship initiatives for 2026.
A Coursera pilot program was proposed to enable shared digital learning and reduce costs across institutions.
Members reaffirmed a collective focus on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven education.
Regional Collaboration and Engagement
Breakout sessions during the Assembly allowed regions to discuss joint actions and local engagement plans.
Highlights included:
RELAL (Latin America): plans for virtual and in-person congresses in 2026–2027 led by La Salle Bajío.
RELAN (North America): continued collaboration through faculty exchanges and shared course development.
PARC (Asia-Pacific): expanding academic missions and fostering entrepreneurship-focused programs.
Voting and Governance
A formal vote approved the addition of new member institutions, strengthening the Alliance’s representation.
Discussions on future governance included proposals for regional co-representation in Africa and the creation of a formal governance process paper to ensure continuity amid leadership transitions.
Looking Ahead - 2026 and Beyond
The General Assembly concluded with a unified Call to Action, grounded in Ubuntu and focused on four guiding principles for the year ahead:
Connection: Strengthening regional collaboration and communication.
Innovation: Expanding academic programs through shared platforms and micro-credentials.
Engagement: Increasing visibility through coordinated communication strategies and regional storytelling.
Sustainability: Building financial and operational models to support long-term Alliance growth.
The year 2026 will also see the first LSBSA Annual Global Conference, proposed to be held in Bahia, Brazil, along with ongoing regional congresses and study tours that will continue to unite students, faculty, and leaders across the network.
The LSBSA continues to build on its mission of “walking together” - connecting Lasallian business schools worldwide through shared values, innovative collaboration, and global impact.

The LSBSA will take the global stage this December, 2nd- 5th at the IALU Encuentro 2025 in Nairobi. The Alliance will present its milestones, ongoing initiatives, and strategic vision for the future - including the impact of its key projects: the Executive Leadership Program, the Global Study Tours, and the Communication Taskforce. This event marks an important moment to showcase how the LSBSA connects regions, shares values, and strengthens global Lasallian collaboration.
Pilot Study Tours: Connecting Learning Across Regions
The LSBSA continues to develop its Global Study Tours - designed as immersive learning experiences for students and faculty across regions.
The model features both Micro (short-term) and Macro (rotational, multi-region) formats.
Micro Study Tours: Short-term visits combining academic content, company visits, and cultural immersion.
The upcoming pilot will see La Salle Barcelona and La Salle Colombia joining Lewis University (USA) in June 2026 for an integrated program.
Macro Study Tours: A long-term rotational format across all six regions of the Alliance, offering students a complete global Lasallian experience that blends academic excellence, innovation, and mission-driven learning.

The Executive Board Meeting held at St. Mary’s College of California marked another milestone in LSBSA’s journey.
Board members participated both in person and virtually, engaging in rich discussions on regional progress, project development, and strategic sustainability.

Following the meeting, members embarked on the North America Alliance Tour, visiting key Lasallian institutions:
St. Mary’s College (California): Hosted the Board Meeting and provided insights into executive education and regional partnerships.
La Salle University (Philadelphia): Offered participants a cultural and academic tour exploring innovation and engagement initiatives.
Lewis University (Chicago): Showcased its global engagement activities, including partnerships and research collaborations.
This tour strengthened regional ties and set the foundation for future joint projects between North American institutions and other LSBSA regions.
The months ahead are set to bring new collaborations and shared opportunities as the Alliance prepares for the Nairobi Encuentro.

The meeting serves to define the mission, vision, values and new members and projects of La Salle Business School Alliance, as well as the governance structure of the general assembly, the board of directors, the executive board and the calendar of events and meetings. The President of the IALU, Brother Andrés Govela, emphasizes the power of collective action and decentralized collaboration: “Our strength lies in the ability to empower each institution in our network. By fostering innovation and sharing knowledge, we are shaping a future where Lasallian business education has a profound global impact.”
